Construction progress

Goldbeck realizes new logistics hall for Cella in Altenberge

Cella GmbH marked significant progress in the construction of its new company site in the southern industrial estate in Altenberge with a celebratory topping-out ceremony on June 4. In the fifth collaboration to date with the Goldbeck Münster branch, a modern logistics hall with integrated office space is being built there on a total area of 25,000 square meters.

Altenberge, June 4, 2025 - The new building is a clear commitment to Cella's growth strategy and creates additional capacity in the areas of fulfillment, contract logistics and warehousing. An important milestone has now been reached with the topping-out ceremony. The columns are in place, one of the halls already has the roof structure and the precast concrete elements for the office wing are currently being installed. The firewall between the two parts of the hall is also being installed. "The anticipation is growing with every step forward," says Louis Knebelkamp, Business Development Manager at Cella. "Altenberge will be a central building block for us as we continue to grow - and our new home in Münsterland."

The new building is the company's response to the increasing demand for modern warehouse space and customized logistics solutions. The site complements the existing capacities in Emsbüren and Meppen and creates space for further growth: up to 75 new jobs are planned. A total of 14,600 square meters of logistics space and around 500 square meters of office space will be created - with potential for expansion to up to 45,000 square meters of warehouse space. Completion of the new company site is planned for 2026.

Focus on sustainability

The new building project also sets new standards in terms of sustainability. Heating is provided by modern heat pump technology, the hall roof is equipped with a photovoltaic system and the office building has a green roof. Special attention is being paid to energy efficiency. The hall will be constructed with an insulated sandwich façade, which will support resource-saving operation. The office building will have a combination of an aluminum cassette façade and a post-and-beam construction with glass sandwich panels.

A total of 34 car parking spaces - including three with pre-installation for e-charging stations and two double charging stations - as well as additional bicycle parking spaces ensure a sustainable mobility infrastructure.

Systematic building, individually planned

Goldbeck is responsible for the implementation - a proven partner with whom Cella has been working successfully for many years. "What you see is individually designed - what lies behind it follows a proven system," explains Christian Terwey, Head of Goldbeck's Münster branch. "With our systematized construction method, we enable efficient construction with a high degree of architectural freedom - creating sustainable properties that will last in the long term."

The new company site in Altenberge is Cella's fifth project with Goldbeck - most recently a site in Emsbüren, Lower Saxony. "Our previous experience with Goldbeck has been consistently positive. We really appreciate their reliability and understanding of our requirements," says Cella Managing Director Nico Brüggemann, adding: "With Goldbeck, we are building on trust and experience."
